Have you ever pondered on what you truly are the best at doing professionally? Have you written down what kind of “dent” you want to make in the universe before your career ends?
A recent thought leader suggested that today and in the past, individuals and companies aligned themselves primarily to “profit streams” such as retail, healthcare, finance and accounting, and manufacturing.
This thought leader submitted that future leaders and organizations that celebrate great success will be those that begin to align to “purpose streams.” Purpose streams are defined by higher-cause areas such as global poverty, global education, getting technology to every human, green energy, diversity, and so forth.
Fast Company recently said this in a high-profile article: “Starting and surviving in today’s economy is hard, but the companies that figure it out have something in common: the pursuit of purpose, alongside the pursuit of profit. A purpose mobilizes people in a way that pursuing profits alone never will. For a company to thrive, it needs to infuse its purpose in all that it does.”
Remember what your purpose is and stick to it if you want to make a profit and KEEP making the profits.
